RS 180 Phono Sockets

There are two adapters included with your RS 180 system to enable you to connect the RS 180 wireless headphone system to an audio source. Please note that you should not use the phono sockets on the transmitter, these are an audio output connection only.

RCA 'Phono' to Minijack This is for a TV or Audio source with audio outputs on RCA connectors (also known as Phono connectors – these are small round sockets, one with a red centre and one with a white centre). A note of caution! Many TVs & Audio Sources also have this same kind of socket fitted as inputs to allow connection of camcorders etc, so you do have to make sure that the sockets you are using are AF Outputs.

Minijack - Minijack This adapter will allow you to use the headphone socket on the Audio Source/TV, if there is one available, to connect to your headphones transmitter.

If you are ever unsure whether you have a problem with the RS 180 headphones, you can always test them by plugging the jack plug in to another known good sound source with a headphone socket, such as an MP 3 player or portable CD player.

We have created a video demonstration, which will help you to connect your Sennheiser RS 180 headphones correctly to your TV, using a Minijack or Scart. You can view the video here.
